Plato was a philosopher in Classical Greece and the founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. He is widely considered the most pivotal figure in the development of philosophy, especially the Western tradition. Good read.
Though there are some typographical errors in the edition, it is hard to find the more mind engaging work of literature. The dialogs shape one's value system which in turn allows the internal common sense to compare what life throws upon him with the logically derived canons, not the ones which are imposed by society nor by the means of indoctrination.
This book is worth it. $0.00 Kindel. If you have read some of Plato and enjoyed I have to imagine you will appreciate the other texts included which you may not have come across. I think it is worth the effort to explore his ideas a bit further
