I enjoyed Palm Springs Heat so much, I feel guilty for downloading it for free! I don't normally write reviews on books I get for free, but this one entertained me so much I felt the least I could do was let the world know how much I love it!I can't wait for part 2 of the Fast Lane series to come out. I really want to see what's next for Clay and Lara, even though I know the next book will revolve around Sushma. So Please Mr Thome, hurry up and finish writing part 2! lol.

I generally only write a review if a book impresses me. I, however, felt compelled go write one about this book. I think too much was spent on the "rotation" but not on the couple. I don't want to spoil it but in order to understand what the rotation really was and how Clay felt needed to be shared more for this book to be believable.
it was an okay read though I was hoping form more considering the fascinating plot line. A playboy with his own legal harem and yet, the story line wasn't developed well. It should have been one of those OMG reads. It fell flat.
A great read. Sexy without being sexual. Dramatic without going overboard. Characters that were yummy. Loved it! DC Thome really knows how to deliver the goods.
I picked this one up for a recent airplane trip. On the flight, I started reading and then stopped. I knew I should save it for the beach. And I'm glad I did! Great book for the beach. Super hot. Thankfully there was a big body of water I could use to cool off. Just add sunscreen.

Lara certainly buys the act along with everyone else. Clay’s handlers ensure it and protect his image. But what she finds when she vows to bring this playboy down, is a man who’s lost the reins of his empire and is as much a victim of spin as she is. There’s an unexpected tenderness inside of him that she warms to, not to mention a sexy seducer as well. Palm Springs Heat is guaranteed to leave you satisfied.

Often in life, we approach a situation or a goal (or a relationship), letting outside assumptions and expectations fuel our vision, only to discover that the truth of the matter is not at all what we anticipate. The same can be said for Lara Dixon, the protagonist in DC Thome's debut novel, Palm Springs Heat. In the quote above, Taequanda is talking to Lara, a journalist who is on a hunt for the inside story of Clay Creighton and his man-centered, womanizing business, Fast Lane Enterprises. What Lara discovers once inside Fast Lane's inner circle, more so when she gets to know Taequanda, is that everyone harbors a secret and no one fits their facade. Lara is torn between writing truth or fiction.
In a post on the blog, Babbles, from Scott Eagan (of Greyhause Literary Agency), Eagan empasizes a few "musts" in category romance novels not "to see [characters] in bed and having a full on romance after the first meeting" but "to really get to know who these people are AS people. Emotion, motivation, depth." Thome's novel gives readers exactly that, a satisfying romance with well-developed characters.
